What is Ethics?
Ethics is the knowledge and practice of doing what is morally right. In a business perspective, it is the concept of following corporate values and doing what is morally right for the customers and shareholders. Many businesses have a Code of Ethics to define a set of values to morally guide the company's practices.
Social Responsibility
Businesses follow laws and codes of ethics to be ethical. However, they also have obligations to conduct business in a an ethical way that will benefit society as a whole. Currently, much of the social responsibility is focused on the environmental impacts of business. There is a large concern to conduct business in an environmentally friendly way.
